E. D2578 running round the freight at Balm Road. For most of the day the freight (with passengers carried in the guards van) worked from Moor Road to Balm Road, with the line's low fi carriages working from Moor Road to Park Halt.

D2999 - don't worry it's a fake. One of a late fifties small batch of Brush/Beyer Peakcock shunters - only of one which ever gained the lion and wheel. And it wasn't this one!

The extraordinary Model T Ford of a locomotive that is ex-brewery locomotive 'Courages' heads D2578 and 7051. Courage was a a 1930s horse substitute for a Courage brewery in Alton.

To the left is a disused siding to now semi-derelict plants and to the right is the tunnel under the M621 which leads to Moor Road. The line originally linked coal mines in the wooded hinterland of Leeds with staithes near to the Tetley Brewary

No trace of the coal mines and spoil heaps are readily visible now. One of the mines was rope inclined worked until 1968 according to the museum intepretation boards.

Kitsons, Fowler, Manning Wardle, Hudswell Clarke, Hunslet - were the big names of the substantial Leeds loco manufacturing industry down in the valley bottom.
